Planned Intergenerational Activities
Intergenerational activities are scheduled with seniors, including family games and movie day, pickleball tournaments, ‘Parents Night Out,’ ‘Chariot Rides’ for grandparents and children, and dementia workshops activities with young adults.
We also include ‘The Story Corps’ program, in which young adults interview senior citizens and preserve the historical record of life experience in the Library of Congress.
Parents’ Night Out is a monthly, Friday night, four-hour program of crafts, movies,, and games for children ages 4 to 12, designed to provide parents with a night of free time.
The Military Holiday Card project involved both seniors and children creating and writing cards for active military serving overseas. East Troy contributed 1,100 cards, 600 of which were created by children.
